Avocado Chocolate Mousse

Oh my goodness! Literally like heaven in a teaspoon. You may notice the word avocado in the title and this may be causing a slight sense of repulsion and disgust as you try to picture chocolate and avo being in the same mouthful. And yes, it does seem like a really odd concept, but you’re going to have to trust me on this one. It truly is divine!IMG_8695

The creamy texture of the avo is what gives this healthy dessert its mousse-like nature. It is also a really healthy and nutritious alternative to any other sugar filled dessert.

Health properties
Avocado: full of good fats which can protect your body against a range of diseases. Avos have 35% more potassium than bananas and are high in vitamin B6, vitamin K, folic acid and omega 3,6 and 9.
Greek yoghurt: an excellent source of calcium, potassium, zinc, protein and vitamins B6 and B12. Contains probiotic cultures and is lower in lactose with twice the protein of regular yoghurt. IMG_8701

How?
It’s super-duper simple! Blend together in a food processor: 1 ripe avocado, 2 tablespoons of cocoa, 1 tablespoon of honey, 2 tablespoons of Greek yoghurt, 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence.

And BAM, there it is! A deliciously creamy, chocolatey, moreish and nutrient filled dessert!
